If you just got engaged, you probably want to tell everyone about the exciting things going on in your life, right? A great way to do that is via a wedding website. You can share the story of how you and your fiance’ met, how you got engaged, and as the details of your wedding start to be finalized (like your wedding locations and registry information), you can include that on the site too. You’re probably familiar with wedding sites from The Knot and WeddingWire, so today, we’d like to highlight a few that you may not have heard of.
MyWedding
There are over 600 designs to select from (and the good news is that this is a free service). And some designs come with matching wedding invitations (costs of invitations will vary). For more information, visit their site at http://www.mywedding.com/free-wedding-websites/.
Wedding Window
There are a limited number of themes that you can use for free, but if you want to expand your choices, paid options are also available. In addition to the wedding websites you can create, this site also offers planning tools to help you get and stay organized (free tools include a budget tracker and a checklist). Get more details about their service at http://www.weddingwindow.com/.
eWedding
What we found interesting about this site is that you can receive a text message whenever one of your guests RSVPs for your wedding (this is a premium service that you can select). The site also offers a brief tutorial on how to make changes to your site…it’s pretty quick and easy! The site comes with the standard sections (such as wedding party and accommodations), but you can also add an unlimited number of custom sections. You can learn more at http://www.ewedding.com/.
Wix
You may think of Wix as just a website builder for businesses (at least that’s what I thought), but they also have templates to create you wedding website! It’s a free site, but we noticed that their design options are not as extensive as other sites. Check out their page just for wedding websites at http://www.wix.com/html5webbuilder/wedding-landing-page.
Appy Couple
With Appy Couple, not only can you create your wedding website, but also get an app to go with it! With over 500 designs from which to choose… Guests can add pictures to your gallery themselves (but you get final say so on which ones get published). And they can also interact with other wedding guests, so they can get to know each other before the big day. Note that this is not a free service, but the two pricing options are pretty reasonable. Check out their site at http://www.appycouple.com/.
There are LOTS of options to choose from when creating your wedding website. Do your homework and determine which one fits your needs and budget the best. Happy Planning!
